“The true alchemists do not change lead into gold; they change the world into words.” One of such alchemists is Laxman Rao, changing the world to words in his books. The tea seller cum passionate Hindi writer of Delhi. Apart from the sweet milky tea, you can get the taste of his words as well. Laxman Rao has written 25 novels, published 12 books. Being rejected by the publishers, he has self-published some of those books and they are on sale at his roadside tea stall.

He was born on 22nd July 1952 in a small village in Amravati District, in Maharashtra. He studied there till the 8th standard. Growing up, when every child wanted to become a doctor or engineer, he wanted to be the next Gulshan Nanda.

This dream never let him stop after all the hardships. He passed the 12th at 37 years of age. At 50 years of age, he completed his BA from Delhi University. At 63, he did his MA from IGNOU.

As of now, he has no plans of closing his tea shop. This tea shop is that one place where people from different backgrounds come with their stories. And ask for his advice to help them become a writer.

Of course, he being kind enough is always there sitting at Vishnu Digambar Marg, ITO to help all the budding writers.
